"If it is neither thought nor mind that arouses thought,
what is it that arouses this thought?
Take hold of this question and never let go of it
until you find the answer"

ReplyDeleteWhat happened to this?
What is thought?
ReplyDeleteWhat is the mind?
It is the very thing that separates us from the beasts of the field. The very soul of a person that can comprehend, analyze and love.
What is this?
It is what science cannot explain. It is given to us by God as we are made in His image. It is our spirit, the very thing that makes us all unique from each other.
I'm glad that you have started this blog. It gives us a chance to see what you are thinking about and connect with you, even though you are far away.
Paul
it strikes me after contemplation
ReplyDeletethat what this master is possibly alluding to
is that thought comes from
desire
in Buddhist thought, of course
desire is what attaches us to
ILLUSION
to the illusion of the self, the material, etc.
desire is to be overcome
thought, therefore, is to be overcome
Oneness is acheived through liberation from thought and desire.
as much compassion and enlightenment may come from Buddhism...this is a point which i take great issue
again, it comes back to what seems a poorly invested topic to me: World religions disagree more on what a human being is than on who or what God (the Divine) is
perhaps i will explore my thoughts on this issue in length one of these days...
thanks for your comments.
So they didn't beat you with the stick I guess?
